Recommended Free Resources DynaMed - Clinical reference tool provided by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Regional Center Libraries (formerly AHEC), Arkansas Children's Hospital Library, and the UAMS Library. Registration is required for access and renewal is required annually. Training is available through the Area Health Education Centers' Libraries and the UAMS Library. To register for DynaMed click here. PubMed - Free search tool for comprehensive biomedical journal literature from the (U.S.) National Library of Medicine. MedlinePlus - Health Information for the Public; including health topics, MEDLINE, dictionaries, clearinghouses, directories, online publications, organizations, and libraries. ClinicalTrials.gov - Registry of federally and privately supported clinical trials conducted in the United States and around the world. ClinicalTrials.gov gives you information about a trial's purpose, who may participate, locations, and phone numbers for more details. This information should be used in conjunction with advice from health care professionals. Disaster Information Management Research Center - From the National Library of Medicine; disaster and emergency readiness, response, and recovery resources. DailyMed - High quality information about marketed drugs. Drug Information Portal - Quick access to selected drug information from the U.S. National Library of Medicine and other key U.S. Government agencies. Pillbox - U.S. National Library of Medicine aid to identify unknown solid dosage pharmaceuticals. Designed for use by emergency physicians, first responders, other health care providers, Poison Control Center staff, and concerned citizens. Environmental Health and Toxicology - Collection of databases on hazardous chemicals, toxic releases, and environmental health. Genetics Home Reference - This resource is the National Library of Medicine's web site for consumer information about genetic conditions and the genes or chromosomes responsible for those conditions. NIHSeniorHealth - Health and wellness information for older adults from the National Institutes of Health. PubChem - Information on the biological activities of small molecules; databases including Substance, Compound, and BioAssay. PubChem also provides a fast chemical structure similarity search tool. Arkansas Public Health Virtual Library - Arkansas Public Health Virtual Library, a portal to information for the public health professionals. This site is a service of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Library. Radiation Emergency Medical Management - (REMM) Provides guidance for health care providers, primarily physicians, about clinical diagnosis and treatment of radiation injury during radiological and nuclear emergencies. Recalls.gov - Find product recalls and related information from US government agencies including Consumer Product Safety Commission, FDA, USDA, EPA, NHTSA, and US Coast Guard. SEER - Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results. National Cancer Institute's cancer registry data with summaries by cancer site and state. Includes ICD - O coding materials. For international cancer statistical information. Substance Registration System - Provided by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Substance Registration System assigns a permanent identifiers for defined biological and chemical substances. TOXNET - Databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, environmental health, and toxic releases. WebWISER - A system designed to assist first responders in hazardous material incidents. WISER provides a wide range of information on hazardous substances, including substance identification support, physical characteristics, human health information, and containment and suppression advice. Free Journals and Images BioMed Central - Free access to full-text biomedical journals. Directory of Open Access Journals - Lunds University's free full-text scientific and scholarly journals. Free Journals from HighWire Press - Stanford University's free full-text scientific and medical journals. Free Medical Image Resources - A listing of free medical images for educational use. Free Medical Journals - Free full-text access to medical journals. Free Non-Medical Images - A listing of free non-medical images for educational use.
