AR HealthLINK / Arkansas Go Local

History and Changing Needs

Since 2001, the National Library of Medicine has supported ARHealthLINK / Arkansas Go Local in providing information on health services from all 75 counties in Arkansas. Its goal was to connect consumers with services in their local communities. The project provided consumers with contact information for hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, support groups, health screening providers and many others.

Over the last several years, the Internet has expanded to provide relevant and useful sources of health information that fulfill the need once only met by National Library of Medicine Go Local programs. Because of the increase of alternate sources of health information providers and declining use of the Go Local program, the National Library of Medicine has decided to phase down and end its support for the project.
