FirstSearch Databases

FirstSearch (Web Server) includes over 60 user-friendly searchable databases.

• WorldCat (OCLC) -- Books, journals and other materials in libraries worldwide
• WorldCat Dissertations and Theses
• Article1st -- Index of articles from nearly 12,500 journals
• ECO Electronic Collections Online -- Index to scholarly journals
• ERIC -- Journal articles and reports in education
• GPO -- U.S. government publications
• PapersFirst -- An index of papers presented at conferences
• MEDLINE -- Abstracted articles from medical journals. (If you are faculty, staff or student at UAMS, we recommend the Ovid Web version of the MEDLINE database.)
• Proceedings -- An index of conference publications
• WorldAlmanac -- The World Almanacs

UAMS faculty, students or staff may obtain passwords from the Library to access additional FirstSearch databases such as CINAHL, MDX Health, Dissertation Abstracts, Business Dateline, Readers Guide Abstracts, Newspaper Abstracts, and many more.

For information about remote access come to the Reference Desk (LibraryReferenceDesk@uams.edu / 686-6734) on the first floor of the UAMS Library on Monday - Friday between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm.
