AccessMedicine - Full text and images from the most recent editions of gold standard textbooks in internal medicine, cardiology, genetics, pharmacology, diagnosis and management, basic sciences, and patient care. Some features require free account registration, including the USMLE practice from the Lange Self Assessment Tool. PDA download available. Content is updated daily.

AccessPharmacy - Online curricular resource designed to meet the changing demands of pharmacy education. Allows students to select a core curriculum topic, browse by organ system, review textbooks, or search across leading pharmacy online references. Limited to 5 concurrent users. Clin-eguide - point-of-care tool that provides one-click access to important clinical resources recommended by physicians for physicians. Coverage is in the areas of Clinical, Drug, EBM, and Guideline. Formerly known as ClinicalResource@Ovid.

Cold Spring Harbor Protocols - a database of research techniques for cell and molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics,protein science, and imaging. Protocols will be continuously expanded, updated, and annotated by the originators and users of the techniques.

CRISP (Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects)* - searchable database of federally funded biomedical research projects conducted at universities, hospitals, and other research institutions.

DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals * - Database of open access scientific and scholarly journals.

DynaMed - Summaries of diseases, disorders, and symptoms, with information on etiology, associated conditions, history and research findings, differential diagnosis and diagnostic testing, prognosis, treatment, prevention, and links to patient information. Summaries are derived from peer-reviewed sources.

ERIC (EBSCO) - Index to education journals and resources, including full-text ERIC digests.

Gale Discovering Collection - Dictionary and specialized encyclopedias with coverage of science & health, geography, cultures, history, biography, and literature. Includes multimedia collection (images, video clips).

Genetics Home Reference* - This resource is the National Library of Medicine's web site for consumer information about genetic conditions and the genes or chromosomes responsible for those conditions.

Google Scholar* - This resource through Google provides an easy and efficient way to search for a known journal article or other scholarly publication.

Minority Health Archive - An online archive of print and electronic media related to the health of African Americans, Latinos, and Asian Americans. National Guidelines Clearinghouse* - Comprehensive database of evidence-based clinica l practice guidelines and related documents. Structured summaries with links to full-text guideline when available. A collaborative initiative by AHRQ, AMA, and AAHP.

National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature* - A specialized reference library devoted to research on ethical issues in health care, biomedical research, and technology.

PubMed Central * - Database providing free access to full-text journals articles in the life sciences.

Recalls.gov - find product recalls and related information from US government agencies including Consumer Product Safety Commission, FDA, USDA, EPA, NHTSA, and US Coast Guard.

RefWorks - (requires free registration*) -
RefWorks will be unavailable March 22 12:00am-4:00am Central Time for scheduled maintenance and system upgrades .
Web-based program to create and store a personal library of citations and help you format bibliographies. Data may be imported directly from online services like EBSCO or Ovid, or entered manually. New Attachments Feature cont'd
Everyone who has an existing RefWorks account has been given a total of 100 MB of attachment space.  This is the capacity for your account; it can be increased if needed by contacting UAMS' RW administrator, Rena Sheffer. 
Each record does have a maximum of 5MB of attachments.  This is set by RefWorks and cannot be increased.
 
Files are attached in the Edit mode of a record, and you can browse to find the file you want.  Files other than PDFs, such as Excel, JPEG and PowerPoint, can be included.  These are just examples, not the complete array. SocINDEX (EBSCO) – indexes over 1800 journals plus provides full-text for 314 journals, 547 books, and 6,711 conference papers.

STAT!Ref - Collection of over 130 current standard textbooks for a variety of medical specialties. Includes handbooks, dictionaries, drug information, and laboratory and diagnostic tests. Limited concurrent users; please remember to logoff when finished.

TOXMAP* - Environmental health e-maps. Shows where chemicals are released on-site into the air, water, and ground. It also identifies releasing facilities, single year releases, and chemical release trends over time.

TOXNET* - Databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, environmental health, and toxic releases.

ToxSeek* - a meta-search engine that enables simultaneous searching of many different information resources on the Internet.  The ToxSeek user interface allows selection of resources from a wide range of authoritative sources from NLM, NIH, CDC, WHO, and many other national and international government resources.

UpToDate**- Concise topic reviews of published evidence with recommendations for patient care. Includes Lexi-Interact drug interactions analysis tool.

WebWISER* - A system designed to assist first responders in hazardous material incidents. WISER provides a wide range of information on hazardous substances, including substance identification support, physical characteristics, human health information, and containment and suppression advice.

WorldAlmanac (FirstSearch) - The World Almanacs.

WorldCat (FirstSearch) - Index to books and other materials in libraries worldwide.

WorldCat Beta (OCLC)--Search the collections of Arkansas libraries, as well as the collections of other libraries worldwide.  Find items such as books, videos, and music CDs, and locate a library near you that owns the item.  WorldCat Beta includes digital content like downloadable audiobooks, documents, and photos. Access to digital content depends on the library that owns the item—a library may require you to first log in with an active library membership before viewing/downloading digital content.
