Ovid Databases Get New Look, New Features

OvidSP search page

On Sunday February 3, Ovid released a new search system called OvidSP. Many familiar Ovid features will remain available, but you will notice a new look and some exciting new features too.

With OvidSP, you can

  • Enjoy a streamlined interface with new results manager, inline abstracts, and other display options.
  • Create your own personal account to save private annotations, auto-alerts, and search strategies.
  • Manage e-TOC (Table of Contents) Alerts for journals in the Ovid journal collection.
  • Save search alerts and e-TOC alerts for RSS delivery

All current individual Ovid user IDs, alerts, saved searches, and jumpstart URLs will remain intact and be fully functional in the new OvidSP platform.

Ovid provides access to MEDLINE, EBM Reviews including Cochrane databases, Health & Psychosocial Instruments, International Pharmaceutical Abstracts, Clin-eGuide, and full-text book and journal collections.  Databases recently added to the Ovid platform include EBM Reviews - Cochrane Methodology Register, EBM Reviews - Health Technology Assessment, and EBM Reviews - NHS Economic Evaluation Database.
