Using Copyrighted Works

Copyright Exemptions to Exclusive Rights for Education

 

In the infinite wisdom of our Congress, several exemptions have been made available for the educator to further education, scholarship, and research. All exemptions require that you:  

• Inform your students that copyrighted materials are provided for the students' own personal educational use, and that they may not redistribute the materials
• Restrict access to enrolled students only
• Provide a copyright notice on all materials distributed, preferably the original copyright statement
