Teaching with Technology Symposium

The Teaching and Technology Committee at UAMS will be hosting the second annual Teaching with Technology Symposium, Thursday and Friday, July 19 & 20. The symposium is geared towards educators from all over the Arkansas that are interested in using technology to enhance their teaching and interaction with students. This program provides an excellent education and training opportunity and is approved by the Arkansas Department of Education.

This year, the program will include longer break-out sessions and a day of
pre-symposium workshops. The symposium will offer three main tracks of courses: web-based learning, classroom teaching, and technology. Workshops include PowerPoint 2007, Tablet PC and Smartboard Technologies, Student Interactions, and Capturing Good Audio, just to name a few. The Thursday workshops are a great way to learn about WebCT, podcasting, digital image and video editing, audience response systems, instruction design, and presentation technologies.

Thursday's pre-symposium workshops are scheduled for 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., with registration at 8 a.m. and a networking reception from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. in the concourse of the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health Building. Friday's symposium is scheduled for 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., with registration beginning at 8 a.m., at the UAMS Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute.
