“Remark” a Highlight from the                     Teaching Resource Center

Remember those bubble-sheets you filled out with a #2 pencil? UAMS Library’s Teaching Resource Center has software that brings that convenient method of data collection to your PC.

Remark Office OMR is a software package designed to collect the data from optical marks (bubbles or checkboxes) and barcodes on plain paper forms.  The software works in conjunction with a sheet-fed flatbed scanner to collect the marks. You can create your own survey or test forms in Word or whatever application you feel comfortable with.  There is a great deal of flexibility in the design process because you don’t need special marks, or special ink, nor do your respondents need to use a number 2 pencil to fill in the forms.

Many on campus are already taking advantage of this software.  It is being used for grant research on medical records, end-of-course surveys for Mini-Med School and several others. Don’t hesitate to call or come by the Teaching Resource Center on the 3rd floor of the Library if this sounds like a product that may meet your data collection needs.
