From the Library Director The UAMS Library Website (www.library.uams.edu) has been redesigned to be an even better gateway to the Library's resources. Favorite services and resources are included, but they may have been moved to a different location. Also, some new resources and facilities are making their debut on the Website. Two main categories, Online Resources and Library Services, make it easier and faster to find what you need:
Under the new Clinical Resources category are resources designed to provide immediate access to clinical information resources useful at the point of care, such as UptoDate, MedWeaver, and StatREF!. The new Library Services link provides access to the various services and departments of the UAMS Library. Here are:
Another change: Instead of being in one place, forms requesting services are now found directly under the appropriate Library Services link. For example, a link to the History of Medicine Associates Membership form at the bottom of the Historical Research Center page. The new Hot Topics section presents two new resources appearing on the UAMS Library Website for the first time:
PDA Resources, the Library Access Grid, and the Faculty Development Room are making their first appearance on the Library Homepage because we want to make sure that you know about these helpful resources and facilities. Jan Hart, Assistant Director of the Library, and Eric Dousay, the Library's web manager, have worked closely with other members of the Library staff over the past year to redesign the site. The redesign was based on a lot of research and compliance with commonly accepted usability standards. We would really like to know your thoughts about the redesigned Website. The Library faculty and staff realize that it may take a little time to get used to the changes, but it is sincerely hoped that you find the redesigned Website easier to use, and that you can easily see all of the services and resources available to you. Please send comments, suggestions, and questions to: LibraryReferenceServices@uams.edu.
