Annual Dinner Meeting Dr. Aubrey J. Hough Jr. will be the speaker at the twenty third annual dinner meeting of the History of Medicine Associates on September 23rd, 2004, at the UA System Board Office. His timely topic will be “Historical Roots of Bioterrorism and the Implications for the Future”. Dr. Hough serves as Associate Dean for Translational Research and Special Projects in the College of Medicine. His responsibilities include biodefense research and education in the College. He was professor and chair of the UAMS Department of Pathology for over 20 years. Dr. Hough is a graduate of Hendrix College and is one of only 60 graduates of the college to be honored as a Distinguished Alumnus. He earned a medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1970. He came to UAMS in 1980 as professor and vice chairman of the Department of Pathology. He served as chair of the department from 1981-2002. During his tenure he won many awards such as the Distinguished Professor Award from the Arkansas Caduceus Club. Non-members pay $40, which includes a one-year membership in the Associates. Guests of non-members pay $25. Reservations should be received no later than September 15th. |
