| Resource of the Month:
UpToDate Get quick answers to clinical questions Many clinicians and educators at UAMS have recommended UpToDate for our Library’s collection. UpToDate is a clinical tool used to assist physicians in making decisions for patient care. It provides current, practical information about diagnosis and treatment recommendations supported by medical evidence. One factor important to the popularity of this resource are the physician authors and peer-review processes used to build and revise the content in UpToDate. The authors for UpToDate interpret and synthesize the best available medical evidence from literature and use clinical experience to provide diagnosis and treatment recommendations. These authors are identified by an editorial board and participating clinical societies. The content for UpToDate goes through a continuous peer-review process, and is updated every four months. Each review contains a supportive reference list. UpToDate provides topic reviews for the following specialties; adult primary care and internal medicine, allergy and immunology, cardiovascular medicine, endocrinology and diabetes, family practice, gastroenterology and hepatology, hematology, infectious diseases, nephrology and hypertension, neurology, obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health, oncology, pediatrics, pulmonary and critical care medicine, and rheumatology.
