HISTORY OF MEDICINE AWARD AVAILABLE A History of Medicine Associates Research Award, in the amount of $1,000, is offered to a successful applicant who is interested in preparing a paper on an aspect of the health sciences in Arkansas. The award is for research in the history of the health sciences in Arkansas on a topic that makes use of the UAMS Library's Historical Research Center in addition to other research collections. Applicants are sought not only from the discipline of the health sciences but also from other disciplines, e.g., history, sociology, and health administration. There is no formal application document, but guidelines are available from the address given below. The application must include a summary of the paper's topic, a proposed budget, and an anticipated completion date for the paper. The deadline for applications for the award is May of each year. A committee of the History of Medicine Associates will determine the successful application, and the announcement of the recipient of the award will be made in June. |
