Library Resources Accessible 24 Hours A Day The recent snowstorm made it necessary for the Library to be closed for two days and open shorter hours than usual on two days. We placed a news message on the Library's web site each day about the closings and shorter hours. After the new phone system is installed in April, we will also have the capability of recording messages on the Library's main phone (686-5980) to inform callers when the Library's schedule is altered. The Library's we site <www.library.uams.edu> serves as the gateway for many of the Library's online resources, which are accessible anytime from anywhere on campus (including the ED II, 8th floor labs, which are open 24 hours a day) and from home when using a UAMS Aristotle account or, for Ovid databases, an Ovid password. |
|
Online resources include the Ovid databases
(MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, etc.), more than 300
full-text journals, MD Consult (limited to on-campus access),
Harrison's Online, Health Reference Center, and many of
the Learning Resource Center's educational programs. Also, anytime that
the Library is closed, UAMS faculty, homestaff, residents, Poison Control
Center and emergency room personnel may gain access to the Library by
calling UAMS Security (686-7777).
