From The Library Director: (cont.)
- Sally Kasalko, formerly head of the Information
Access Services department, assumed a newly established Electronic Resources
Coordinator position in the Information Services and Systems department.
For some time, we have discussed the need for someone to coordinate
the selection of electronic products and the analysis of usage data,
to negotiate licensing agreements, and to coordinate the access to these
products through our web site and the online catalog. The reorganization
allowed us to establish this important position.
- Amanda Saar, formerly the Special Projects
librarian, became a member of the Information Services and Systems department.
- The Books/Cataloging and Serials departments
were combined into the Collection Management department, with Mary Hawks,
formerly the head of Books/Cataloging, as the head.

- Jean Ann Moles, formerly head of Serials,
became the Serials Collection Development Coordinator.
- The vacant Associate Director position was
eliminated and the duties of that position were reassigned to other
positions.
During the second phase of reorganization,
we will make a prioritized list of current and new services that we
consider important. Then we will review the current activities performed
in each division and determine the best allocation of duties to allow
us to provide as many services as reasonably possible.
