General Information About the LibraryThe UAMS Library welcomes all visitors seeking health information or researching biomedical information to the Library. p.m.) Internet Access to Health Information and Biomedical LiteratureA limited number of computers on the first floor of the Library are reserved for visitors looking up health information and doing biomedical research. Visitors must comply with the UAMS Library Computer Use for Visitors Policy. Non-UAMS visitors have access to the Library’s online resources from computers in the Library. However, licensing agreements restrict access to most of the Library’s online resources from off-campus to UAMS faculty, students and staff. Health Information for the PublicThe Library has a number of resources geared specifically toward the general public. Here are some online consumer health resources that we recommend. A collection of books and other print materials is located near the Core Collection on the first floor of the Library. These are reference materials and cannot be checked out. Checking out materialsThe UAMS Library only checks books out to health professionals practicing in central Arkansas (Cleburne, Faulkner, Garland, Hot Spring, Perry, Pulaski, Saline, Van Buren, White counties); Arkansas health professionals outside the central Arkansas region are directed to contact their local Regional Center Library.
