Before you install new programs onto your handheld be sure to back up the contents of your device. Here are some suggestions:

Synchronize your device at your own desktop computer on a regular basis.

Purchase a backup expansion card if you do not have access to a personal desktop computer.

Backup your existing applications prior to installing new ones so that you will be able to restore them if necessary.
