AccessMedicine palm pocket
AccessMedicine allows you to save and download selected ebook contents to your PDA by clicking on the "Save for PDA" link. To use this feature, choose "My AccessMedicine" from the site and follow the instructions to register for a personal account. You will need to download the free Mobipocket reader software available from the website.

iPod Listen to weekly medical update podcasts from AccessMedicine, downloadable to iPods, MP3 compatible devices, or your desktop.

Summaries of diseases, disorders, and symptoms, with information on etiology, associated conditions, history and research findings, differential diagnosis and diagnostic testing, prognosis, treatment, prevention, and links to patient information.

Note: Please do not use any personal email accounts such as @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com or @gmail.com when making a request for a serial number, for authentication reasons DynaMed cannot validate that you are affiliated with your institution when using these email addresses.

For information about access to Lexi-Comp for the PDA, contact the UAMS Library (686-5980). The Library has negotiated a $50 annual fee for either a Palm, PocketPC, or Blackberry version of Lexi-Select. This discount is available for students, residents, and full-time faculty, and can be purchased at the Circulation desk located on the 1st floor of the Library.

PsychiatryOnline palm pocket
Psychiatry Online features DSM-IV-TR® and The American Journal of Psychiatry as well as other psychiatric references, including ebooks, practice guidelines, journals, and self-assessment tools.

Download any section of the selected publications to a PDA. Select "My PsychiatryOnline" from the site and follow the instructions. Before installing content, you will need to sign-up for a personal account and download free Mobipocket reader software available from the website.

Thomson Clinical Xpert palm pocket
Available through a subscription from the College of Pharmacy and Poison Control is a PDA version of the MICROMEDEX databases: Drug information, Alternative medicine information, Acute care information, and Toxicology information. Select "MICROMEDEX Healthcare Series" then select "Handheld PDA" for downloading information.

Access is restricted to UAMS campus only. There is a free version for prescribers, medical students, and residents: Top 10 Free Downloads.
