Student Computer Facilities

All Library computer facilities have :

• Connections to the campus network
• Connections to the Library’s wireless network
• Internet access to campus email, course materials, evaluations, Library resources
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
• Laser printers – black and white: 10¢ a page, color: 30¢ a page (1st floor only) -Remember that most materials may be e-mailed to yourself for later printing at home.

At the Circulation Desk in the Library (1st floor, 686-5980), you may purchase:

• Vendacards for printing and photocopies ($1, $5, $10, $20, $50)
• $1 card only has 5 uses; may be reset for additional uses

Library Public Computers (1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor of the Library)

Login using your UAMS login name and password

• 50+ computers with access to Medline and other health care databases, electronic books & journal, MD-Consult, and additional electronic resources.
• CD burners available on all computers

 Library Learning Resource Center (LRC) (5th floor, 686-6752 & 3rd floor, 686-5428)

To use the LRC programs and test reviews, use the LRC login - login information found on each LRC monitor. For email, WebCT, other Internet usage, login using your UAMS login name and password.

• Open and staffed all hours the Library is open
• Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) programs and testing
• 60+ PCs
• Audiovisual collection and equipment (3rd floor)
• Small group viewing rooms with computers and AV equipment (3rd floor)
• PDA hot-synch stations (5th floor)
• CD burners available on all computers
• 2 Digital scanning stations available (5th floor)

12 additional computers with a printer are located in a 24-hour lab (X-Lab) that is accessible from the ED II 5 th floor north hallway. A current student ID badge is required for entry. Please contact an LRC staff member if you have problems accessing the X-Lab.
