BioVentures Building

UAMS BioVentures

The UAMS BioVentures building has served as the hub of activity for implementing Arkansas’ biotechnology development strategy since 1994. The BBC has raised more than $3 million for UAMS’ biomedical business incubator, UAMS BioVentures. The BBC created this Arkansas economic engine in 1997 with the startup of UAMS’ first biotechnology company, ContourMed, Inc., which manufactures and markets prosthetic devices.

This building added 16,065 square feet to research with 12 labs and  Arkansas' first cGMP (built to current Good Manufacturing Practices) laboratory, a federal Food and Drug Administration-certified “ultra-clean lab” needed for human trial activities.
