Jones Eye Institute

The Harvey and Bernice Jones Eye Institute at UAMS is one of only 20 free-standing vision research institutes in the nation.

Opened in 1994, its mission is to reduce blindness and impaired vision in Arkansas through quality patient care, education and research. Our continued success in fulfilling this mission means we must have the resources to provide the best eye care to our patients, educate doctors and technicians to become skilled ophthalmic practitioners and foster sight-saving research.

This building added 66,761 square feet for patient care, education and research, which includes two operating rooms and seven labs. Two additional ORs would be added to the fourth floor during Phase II in 2006.
